In Japan it is known as Akumajo Densetsu, which translates to Legend of Demon Castle.
On November 16, 2002 it was released on the Windows PC as part of the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania and Contra. All 3 of the NES Castlevania games were part of this compilation, along with Contra and Super C.
It was released in 2006 for play on cell phones in Japan.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection also includes the Japanese version of the game.
