In Japan the use of the Akumajo Dracula title was returned for this game. The previous 3 titles in Japan were under the Castlevania name.
It’s Japanese translation is Demon Castle Dracula: Cross of the Blue Moon.
It’s working title was Castlevania: Soul Power, prior to becoming Dawn of Sorrow.
The game was re-released in Japan under the Konami the Best series in 2006.
It was also re-released under the Konami the Best series for the U.S. in 2007.
It was released in 2009 for play on cell phones in Europe.
